Professor Lincoln Mitchell of Columbia University writes a very cogent argument that Democrats ought to go it alone in passing health care reform with a public option. While Republicans and their supporters say it would be a big mistake to do so, they are more likely trying to prevent it from happening since the only losers if it happens will be the GOP.
